Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Pirate Face (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What Pirate Face is

Pirate Face is an index of publicly available, open-weight AI models. The Service provides source metadata, checksums, and torrent or magnet links where available. Pirate Face is not affiliated with Hugging Face.

Model files and distribution

Pirate Face provides a searchable index of model metadata and links. Pirate Face does not host model files or operate the independent peers that transfer them. Users who seed files make those files available to others and are responsible for having the necessary redistribution rights and complying with applicable laws.

A listing, checksum, or torrent link is not an endorsement of a model or a guarantee that downloading, using, or redistributing it is lawful in your jurisdiction.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations applicable to you and your activities in your jurisdiction, including when accessing, downloading, using, uploading, seeding, or redistributing model files.
• You must check and comply with the applicable model license and third-party rights or restrictions. License information displayed by the Service does not replace the original license terms or grant you additional rights.
• Seeding makes files available to others. Only share files you are authorized to redistribute.
• You are responsible for how you use model weights, including any outputs you generate.
• You may not use the Service to distribute malware, mislabeled or tampered weights, or content you have no right to share.
• You may not disrupt the Service, its infrastructure, or the swarm.

Handles

You may reserve a handle (pirateface.co/yourname). Handles are verified against an external identity (such as Hugging Face or X). Do not impersonate others. Pirate Face may reclaim handles that are squatted, inactive, used to impersonate, or used to publish infringing or mislabeled content. See the Takedown policy.

Model torrent submissions

If you submit a model torrent, you confirm that you have the complete files and all rights or permissions needed to redistribute them. You confirm that the repository, revision, license, checksums, and source evidence you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that the submission is not malware, mislabeled, or deliberately tampered with.

You are responsible for your submission and for claims arising from it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Pirate Face harmless from third-party claims, losses, and expenses arising from your submission or your breach of these terms. Pirate Face may review, reject, hide, or remove any submission and may respond to takedown requests. Approval does not guarantee peer availability or a successful download.

No warranty

The Service and all mirrored models are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Pirate Face does not guarantee that any model is safe, accurate, available, or fit for a particular purpose. Checksums let you verify that a download matches the source - they are not a guarantee about the model itself.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pirate Face is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or of any model obtained through it.

Language

These terms may be offered in more than one language. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version controls.

Changes

Pirate Face may update these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
